Cake disappears after crafting

When I craft a cake, instead of getting the cake and the buckets, I only get the buckets. The cake doesn't show up in my inventory, and it doesnt drop on the ground. Instead, it disappears.

I have the ingredients to craft a cake, and the crafting guide shows that a cake is craftable.

After crafting the cake, it appears in your inventory for a short moment. However, the buckets used in crafting take over the spot where the cake was. The cake doesn't show up anywhere after that.
This has happened before the hotfix, as well.
