Problem with "Better skyblock"

I'm playing Minecraft pocket Edition in my PlayStation 4

I bought "Better skyblock" and as part of the game, there is a manual that says, throwing logs, plants, cobblestone and so on into the questing cauldron I have a reward and I can keep the continuity of the game

But as I show in the next video it doesn't work
