Tamed wolves, cats, and other mobs despawn when going through nether portal

Wolves that have been tamed have a chance to disappear when going through a nether portal.

13 dogs disappeared on a bedrock realm and couldn't be found when we went back to the overworld. I tested it in single player and it happened one other time out of 50 or so trips.
