XP Glitch (Not giving xp to mending tools that need it)

Anyways, I have mending armor (full health) and a tool I want to repair.. So I go to an xp killing station and get some xp... Thing is it doesnt split it correctly so instead of splitting putting it into the tool some gets put into my level bar... I dont want any xp to go to my level bar, I want it to repair my tools...

 

How to replicate: 

1 - have full hp mending armor on

2 - go to repair weakened tool with mending and get some xp

3 - see xp is going into level bar even though it shouldnt

 

I checked the first few pages of this glitch and could not find it, could it please be fixed?
