Fully charged crossbow in Hotbar, but not charged crossbow in reality

When I shoot a fully charged crossbow (in creative; not sure if affects survival), the crossbow in your hand is empty, but the crossbow in the hotbar is fully charged. When I looked into my inventory, the crossbow wasn't fully charged. Is it just me or does it happen on other Windows 10 computers?
