Netherite Skimming on Lave

So I was taking a look at the new netherite items and their properties of being immune to lava in the Minecraft Bedrock Edition 1.16.0.51 beta. But when I tested it out, it just skimmed through the lava at random directions, like a skipping stone, except it bounces towards random directions. It was hilarious when I witnessed it, but I am pretty sure it is a bug. This is because, in the java edition, the netherite items just float on lava.
