Can't see rainfall through glass

I was building a shelter in Minecraft and it was raining but I couldn't see rain through glass (not glass pane). It appears that I could only see the rain hitting the ground when seeing it through the glass but not the rainfall, and its really annoying and unrealistic so please take this at hand and fix it.
