Non of my game invites are going through and no one can join my games please help

no one is able to join my multiplayer world i have it set to open to friends of friends yet when i invite them nothing shows up and when they attempt to join my world without an invite they never load in. Also with this issue. I am not receiving any game invites either sent through minecraft or through the Xbox console companion. please fix this the whole reason i bought this game was so i could enjoy it with my friends and now that is impossible.......
