Duplicated items

As seen in the photo, I only have one 17 stack of oak wood in the "select blocks" area. In the bottom of the "select blocks" area, one stack takes one spot and another takes another spot. When I select one of the sides and place one block of wood, both of them decrease. I am not sure if this is a bug or if it is natural. Please take your time in fixing this. Thank you!
