My chat gets reset when I take any sort of damage

If I am typing on the keyboard to send a message and I take any sort of damage, when I try to send the message on the keyboard(by pressing +), if I got hit at all while typing then the whole chat message I was trying to type out gets reset. Please fix this, it's really getting aggravating.
