purchase in progress this shouldn't take long

When I try to restore the purchase of a World from the Marketplace, I get the following message:

"Purchase in progress. This shouldn't take long."

It then locks up.  I tried to backup my worlds, delete the app, reinstall the app, and then restore my games folder backup.  That did not work.  Please help.
