Can't add server

I thought that I would type in the stuff for server and I add the server
I was typing IP for server and when I finish and click done it takes me to main play screen and I can't add anything like the name, IP, and port to actually add the server

1. Go to Play>Edit>External
2. Start typing and the click done
3. The stuff you put in disappears
