Fell out of world in boat

My friend and I were playing in one of my worlds. We were both sharing a boat and as soon as I left it the boat disappeared and she fell out of the world, arriving at world spawn. I am not aware of the version of Android she was using but I was on Android 8.1 (Oreo)
