There is essentially an issue where when i connect a controller i cant move as i would on a console

I am using a Windows 10 Pc and an iPhone and Ipad 

whats happened is I'll connect a Nintendo pro controller or an Xbox controller and I cannot sprint or walk normally with the left analog stick at all like you would using their respective consoles the only way I can walk normally with a controller is if I map the movement controls to the d-pad
