Items bounce extra high on slime blocks

The bug

Items thrown onto a slime block bounce very high, higher than they were thrown from. It then bounces around 10 times before finally coming to a stop.

How to reproduce

1. Build a platform of slime blocks
2. Throw an item onto one

Expected behavior
Same relative bounce height as all other entities
