Custom characters are not saved to the device, so they don't work when offline

What I expected to happen was...:
When I go offline, my characters are saved correctly.

What actually happened was...:
Characters are not saved and I have to make another character offline to apply my skin.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open the game when you're online.
2. Make a character (make sure it gets saved).
3. Exit the game.
4. Relaunch the game when offline.
5. Observe that none of your characters are saved properly.
