Can take fall damage when falling in shallow water

When I fall from a large height into a one block deep water pool, I get hurt.

What I expected to happen:
I would not take damage, similarly to the computer version.

What actually happened:
I got hurt from fall damage.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Make a one block deep water pool.
2. Make a tall pillar (enough to take damage from).
3. Jump into the water pool.
