Won't load menu, freezes immediately

Not sure version is correct selection, but we have most recently updated version. Minecraft immediately freezes before pulling up menu buttons. Says global resources reset and resources failed to load previously. Have uninstalled, powered xbox off and on, and reinstalled. Tried changing xbox accounts. Nothing works. Sometimes if I wait long enough, the background will move, and it will try to syncs used data, with extra line that says failed to sync previously, and never moves past that.
