Killed the ender dragon but portal did not appear.

Hi, so my problem is that in one of my worlds i killed the ender dragon, i got the cinematic the dragon egg spawned same for the ender portal and for the ender city's but the portal to go back on earth did not and i don't want to reset my character with all my levels and stuff what do i do?..
