Flying feels too slippery in creative

When flying in creative mode, my character tends to slip even when I let go of the joysticks. I am playing on Minecraft Bedrock through Xbox One and it has never felt slippery before. It happens consistently in all my worlds. I can move my character any direction and let go and they will slip along. It makes it hard to build in the air. I recently bought a new controller to see if that would help but the issue still occurs.
