Item duplicated after crash

I was at a lava lake, mining obsidian, when my finger slipped on the drop item button - throwing my pickaxe onto the ground. Like any normal player, I picked it right up. Couple of minutes later, everything seems to be going well, when the game crashed. "[ ! ] The software was closed because an error occured."
The Nintendo Switch port of Bedrock is very unstable. More noteably, many, many crashes occur, usually after quitting a world. Sometimes, though, the game simply decides to give up for reasons yet unknown.
The same happened in this case. I open the game, load the world and begin from where the last autosave happened. The pickaxe I had just picked up is in my inventory, but I look back at the lake and the pickaxe is also there, where I accidentally dropped it. I then go over to it and I pick it up.
Now, I have two diamond pickaxes in my inventory, both having presumably the same durability.

Reproduction
This is all an assumption. The crashes being random, I can't confirm any step of this.

  1. Drop item and pick it back up
  2. Wait for autosave
  3. Crash game
  4. Load world again

Expected outcome
The world loads and gameplay continues as it was saved last time.

Actual outcome
The world loads and gameplay continues as it was saved last time, but now there is a duplicate of an item where it was dropped before the autosave.

I have included two screenshots. The first one (unbeliveably numbered #1) showcases how there is a diamond pickaxe item hovering on the obsidian. On the second one (#2), you should look at my hotbar, displaying how there are two of the same item, presumably the same durability.
