Placing too many signs cause lagg and more

When I found out signs can be used as a alternative redstone I started using them everywhere.But I noticed a bug if I place too many signs in creative and servival I caned it the game by itself!And in both the sign disapears.That was the bad part in servival it was a waste of wood.
