Nether portal can enter but cannot exit for a specific portal

There is a problem with one specific nether portal that I use mostly in my world. I can enter but I cannot exit, as I try to exit the nether portal via inside the nether world I get an error message and get kicked out of the game. Could this issue happen because I am playing splitscreen with 2 other people and I am the host. This glitch only happens with me, but the people I play split screen with an error does not happen and tbey can enter and exit perfectly fine.
