When I host or join worlds, I can send texts, but can't receive any

When I host worlds, I can send texts, but I can't receive any texts from any players. It used to work, but now when I wasn't hosting,  even when I joined another server, players can't see my texts (like the bug was reversed) I checked but mute chat is off, so I don't really know what this is.
