crash when trying to load marketplace

Whenever I try to load the marketplace on an older iPad mini (iPad mini 4, FK9N2LL/A), minecraft crashes. Seems 100% reproducible - I tried deleting the "XBLStoage.json" file (which fixed some other login problems related to changing Xbox privacy settings), offloading/reloading the app, and restarting the iPad. No change in behaviour. Is there a way I can get a crash log to you?
