Lagging when playing multiplayer

When I play in a friend's world or they enter mine, they sometimes can't see my messages on the chat or I can't break and place any objects, my friends say that when that happens, my character just looks frozen. I've tried uninstalling the game and installing it again, but it just doesn't work.
