Multiplayer not working and greyed out

My Minecraft multiplayer is not working I am able to join my friends worlds but they cannot join mine it simply says can’t connect to world I checked on the multiplayer section in the setting menu but it’s greyed out and I cannot click anything although the LAN toggle seems to be on It seems that I can invite friends to my world but it just won’t let them join me
how do I fix this?!
