Friend stuck on Loading server screen

My friend is trying to join my multiplayer world on Ps4 but always get stuck on a generating world: loading server screen. Hes waited up to ten minutes with no change, hes tried uninstalling and reinstalling, resetting his router, even updating his Ps4. What could be causing it? Is there something he can do to fix it?
