Hotbar changes selected slot when using sign item

Issue:

Using a sign in the last slot if the hotbar selects the second to last slot after placing the sign and exiting the text interface. Occurs in Creative/Survival, full hotbar, just sign(s) in last position, full inventory, and/or empty inventory aside from sign(s). Stack size (full stack, single item, or anything in between) does not change result. Blank sign or entering text does not change result.

Expected result:

The sign item/hotbar slot stays selected.

Replication:

Put a sign item/stack of sign items in the last position of the hotbar. Place the sign. Exit the text interface. Slot selection moves left one slot.
