horses

i'm out traveling and i put a lead on my horse and i stuck it to a fence and then i quit off with my horse still lead to the fence and then i join back on, reload the game and my horse is gone. it's in peaceful and there's nothing that would've attacked it and made it die. this has happened twice now.
