Issue with connecting to my Microsoft account

I just installed the new bedrock version of Minecraft on PlayStation 4. I  created a new Microsoft account just for this bedrock edition. But after using the code and everything else I was prompted to do it just appears with "Failed to login". I thought it might be a time thing, so I waited for 24 hours, but nothing changed. I wish to experience the full extent of Minecraft and that means signing in with a Microsoft account. However, I am not able to do that.

Furthermore, because you can only link one Microsoft account to a PlayStation Network account I cannot log in at all, so I cannot purchase anything I want.
