Minecraft worlds not loading

When I create a new world, play for a while, then exit the game, all works fine. The next time I open the game and try to load the same world, it gets stuck on the loading screen, with the progress at 100%. This has happened to multiple worlds, that I can no longer get into. Any advice would be appreciated!
