Broken Sword Crashing minecraft

When I'm on the TaleCraft Server in Prison 2 I can't open up my inventory without it crashing. It doesn't give me an error or a message, it just crashes whenever I try to open my inventory.{Resolved} I found out that it was a glitcy maniac sword. The new problem is how do I get rid of the sword because it keeps crashing the game?
