Minecraft crashes due to lack of storage but have 200+ gb.

Not sure if I have the version listed in the affect version section above - I am not sure how to check. I have the latest version on windows 10.  The game crashes after about 10 minutes of gameplay. The error screen says I ran out of storage but there is over 200 gb's in drive where the game is located. I play coop with a friend who uses an xbox one. Their screen says that the save file is corrupted. If it is corrupted, is there a way to recover the file?
