Can't see other players

So I was playing MCPE The Hive and I happened to be on 2 accounts at the same time. Funny, one account (iPhone) appeared as though only a few people were there, the second account (old iPad) showed many people in the same spot at the same time. Here are some screenshots I took at the same time and place.
