When playing LAN my sister has my skin and I have hers.

We recently got updated to 1.13.1 and are almost 100% certain that its the latest edition as our devices wont update. She is using a kindle fire and I'm using a desktop running windows 10. When I load into a game I can see my skin but when she loads in she's also my skin despite having selected her own skin. On her screen I appear as if I'm using her custom skin instead of my own. I used to enjoy playing with her for long periods of time but now I don't even want to attempt. Is there a fix for this or not?
