Data Loss when crash happens while riding a horse

I went down to collect some iron from a chest and got on my horse to go to another place but then a few seconds riding it, I crashed and when I reopened the game, I located somewhere and I couldn't find my horse and the iron I collected disappeared. It wasn't even in the chest or my inventory.
