Coal stacking issues

I see there are other reports on this issues, but it says resolved on them and I am have been having this issue through several updates. I harvest coal with my pickaxe  which has silktouch and then I smelt it. The coal does not stack with coal mined with a regular pickaxe and the villagers will not trade for it. This is a huge issue as almost all my coal is done with a silktouch pickaxe.
