Thrown potion appears as an item when thrown into a nether portal

When you throw a potion into a nether portal, on the other side it appears as if you dropped an item, but the item isn't possible to pick up.

Reproduction

-Create nether portal

-Throw potion into nether portal

-Travel to other dimension

-See an unobtainable potion that you can't get rid of
