having issues with imported skins it wont show the newest ones i pick so i cant switch betwween them

when trying to choose a different skin under imported skins i will click and choose a new one but when it pops up on minecraft and shows the current skin and the one you just picked it just shows the current one twice. it doesnt load the new skin. but when i close minecraft and reopen it the new skin is loaded
