"A newer version of the game has saved this level. It cannot be loaded."

Let me start by saying, the version of the game i have says in the bottom corner v1.12.1 that was not an option for the affected version dropdown menu when i created the issue. im guessing this has something to do with my current situation.

 

My game had an update this morning. Now i cannot play my game. it keeps giving me the notice, "A newer version of the game has saved this level. It cannot be loaded. Unable to connect to world." I tried updating the game but cant. what else can i try or is it lost for good?
