Placed Leaves and Snow do not burn in Creative

I placed lava on some placed (not naturally generated) leaf blocks, but it did not immediately burn them. I tried the same with snow blocks, but again, it did not burn them. After I contained the lava source block inside glass panes, the leaves began to catch fire.
