minecraft will not launch on ipad

Launches Mojang splash screen as usual followed by a white screen which quits to ipad desktop within a few seconds. Have tried rebooting & deleting and reloading the game and various other fixes. This was working fine until a couple weeks ago, not sure if it is being caused by the 10/29 update (version1.13). There are no screen shots to provide.
