White screen on launching Minecraft

On launching the Minecraft App, on my ipad (IOS 10.3.3) it just opens a white screen and crashes after 10-15 seconds. The screen is plain white - no error messages or codes.. Works fine on my iphone (IOS 13.1.13). Cannot update the IOS on my ipad since it is Ipad v4.
