iPad app won’t open

my daughter updated to the latest version of Minecraft PE using the App Store. Since then when we click on the icon we get a white screen with the Mohang logo and it then just closes down and takes us back to the iPad home screen. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app but this has not worked.
