Freezes in the End

It is possibly to enter the end, but around five minutes in the game freezes.  It doesn’t crash; it just stays frozen and I cannot do anything except close down the game, at which point upon rejoining I am around ten minutes behind from where I was when the game froze. This happens wether or not there are others on my game, or whatever the render distance.
