All XP and items lost, didn't die

I was level 25, had a few stacks of food and weapons on me. I saved and quit, opened it back up today to see everything is gone. My items aren't laying around as if I had died (they would still be there, seeing as an item I had dropped before them was still present,) and there's no way to get it back without turning on cheats or switching modes, which I really would hate to do.
