Minecraft texture packs aren't working

I opened minecraft yesterday and it let me onto the main loading screen but everything was purple and black and when I opened one of my worlds I couldn't see any land, all I saw was mobs and animals but even they were purple and black. I believe it might've been the 1.13.0 update because it happened when it updated to this version.
