Split screen multiplayer not working after update.

My game crashes every time i try to add a player for split screen play. When the 2nd player is added the split screen flashes black for a second and then closes and the game returns to being single player mode.

(I have tried both split screen orientations, I tried to create a new world and i have restarted the game multiple times without success)
