Mine craft app on iPad worked for a week and now won't load. Closes itself after Mojang then blank white screen

We purchased Minecraft from the App Store on 24/10/19. Son has played it without a hitch until yesterday. Now when tapped on, app shows Mojang screen, then blank white screen, then closes down itself. Help please. We have followed usual protocol of deleting and re-downloading, signing in and out of App Store account etc. No issues with IPad or wifi. Have a crying 7yr old boy now......😭😱
